This place is written as [石山緑地] in Japanese.
Ishiyama Open Space is situated in the southern part of Sapporo, just a 30-minute drive from Sapporo Station.
Previously, this area was known for its extraction of a soft rock called ‘Sapporo soft rock’ (札幌軟石), but mining activities have ceased. Ishiyama Open Space is located along the route to Lake Shikotsuko.
Visitors often find the landscape both rugged and strangely enchanting, with a mystical quality. It’s also a popular spot to enjoy the vibrant autumn foliage.
