Kotoni Shrine (琴似神社) is located in the Kotoni area west of Sapporo. Established in 1870 with a gift from Watari Date, a feudal lord of Sendai-han, the shrine was initially named Takehaya Shrine in 1875 before being renamed Kotoni Shrine in 1897.
