The Otaru Museum Canal Branch is situated near Otaru Canal, adjacent to Otaru Canal Plaza. It serves as the canal branch of the Otaru Museum, originally known as the Otaru Transport Museum (小樽交通記念館), located in Temiya. In 2007, the museum was re-established to also function as a science center for youth. The Canal Branch showcases numerous archives and artifacts related to Otaru’s history and natural heritage. The building holds historical designation by Otaru City. Visitors can enjoy winter activities such as pulling sleighs and snow shoveling in the courtyard.
