Route 275, stretching from Tobetsu to Shintotsukawa and Uryu, traverses some of Hokkaido’s most picturesque countryside, known for its expansive rice fields.
When driving from Sapporo to Asahikawa, many opt to take Route 12 via Iwamizawa and Takikawa, despite its heavy traffic and numerous signals that can be stressful.
However, Route 275 offers a serene alternative. This country road boasts minimal signals, lighter traffic, and stunning scenery from spring through autumn. It’s a lesser-known route that promises a tranquil journey.
In the clear summer skies, consider biking along this route for an exceptional way to experience all that Hokkaido has to offer.
