Rusutsu is one of Hokkaido’s popular resorts, alongside Niseko. Here, you experience the essence of Hokkaido, reminiscent of the eastern regions like Furano or Akan with their expansive fields.
While not as developed as Niseko, Rusutsu is gaining popularity and is expected to grow further in the near future. Whether skiing and snowboarding in winter or hiking and camping in summer, Rusutsu offers attractions throughout all seasons.
When heading to Lake Toya via Jozankei from Sapporo, you pass through Rusutsu along the way. Even if you don’t have specific plans, it’s nice to take a break at the Seven-Eleven here. There’s a large parking lot and the restrooms are clean.
