Sankaku Ichiba – Triangle Market – near Otaru Station

“Sankaku” means triangle, derived from the shape of the market’s roof and layout. Sankaku Ichiba is located just to the left of Otaru Station, within a 30-second walk. The market was founded in 1948 with 7-8 open booths initially. It is one of the oldest and most famous markets not only in Otaru but also in Hokkaido.
